JQuery Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) Vulnerability

JQuery · JQuery

CVSS 6.9 EPSS 84% 1 public exploit Fix deadline passed 13 February 2025

What it is

JQuery contains a persistent cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability. When passing maliciously formed, untrusted input enclosed in HTML tags, JQuery's DOM manipulators can execute untrusted code in the context of the user's browser.

Why we say that

  • EPSS puts exploitation in the next 30 days at 84%
  • 1 public exploit published
  • CISA's federal remediation deadline (2025-02-13) has passed
  • Listed in the CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalogue

Every line above comes from a named public source. Where the evidence is thin, we say so rather than inventing confidence — see methodology.

What to do

Apply mitigations per vendor instructions or discontinue use of the product if mitigations are unavailable.

Public exploit code

Indexed from Exploit-DB. Presence of code raises urgency; absence does not mean safety.

What it costs when this goes wrong
